Effects or just about anything that is audio.

Commercial Producer
I am a Commercial Producer based at the
busiest Radio Commercial Production Centre in the world. I make an average of 75
commercials a week. GWR Creative service 42 writers based at 32 radio stations.
I work as one of six producers in a friendly but very intense environment. We
work to very tight deadlines, where quality is of paramount importance. I have
achieved some milestones whilst working at GWR Creative, winning VOX awards and
many commendations for my production work. I also have an excellent working
relationship with Voiceovers and music libraries. I am proficient in the use of
Pro Tools, SADiE, Akai 1500 and Cubase digital editing systems.

Senior Commercial Producer
Signal Radio took me on to change the
way Station output sounded from the point of Commercials, and Promo’s after
which the Station Manager, Chris Hurst, said, “All of the tasks that we set you,
have been completed and the output of the Station has been improved - thank you”
I was in charge of all Commercial
Production including Promo’ s and Sponsorship output; I also made any event
logos for the presenters when they were on Roadshows. I was involved in the
change of Station branding with both Signal 1 and BIG 1170AM. When we put on the
area’s largest outdoor event, “Cool Britannia”, I made the Promo’s and the Event
Opener. I also successfully trained up my assistant in how to make effective
Radio commercials, how to use a radio studio desk, a recording studio desk,
microphone placement, ISDN, SFX, FX units, SADiE and DALET.
I also helped, with Mark Gregory’s
Creative Consultancy, to turn Signal Creative into a profit-making department.

BBC Radio WM, Birmingham
October 1997 to April 1999
Freelance Programme Assistant
(Outside Broadcast Engineer)
Whilst working at BBC Pebble Mill, with
Radio WM as a PA, I engineered Outside Broadcasts with a Radio car and 10 metre
mast. The job involved setting up the Radio car ready for broadcast
transmissions, signal checking, working with the studios and engineering and
doing reconnaissance checks to see if a show could come from a particular place.

Kings Recording is the foremost digital
recording studio in the Midlands outside of the BBC. I personally produced over
500 radio commercials that have been broadcast nationwide. I have been involved
in the producing and recording of over 40 albums and CD’s I have a keen interest
in all aspects of production work including scripting, recording, engineering,
editing producing
I have managed all of my clients and
encouraged a very good working relationship with independent producers and voice
over artists. Other aspects of the job have included building a new studio,
re-wiring the studio maintaining all of the equipment and entertaining clients

I had to look after the shop; taking

the other staff. This was a family run business set up by my father and I helped
to establish the shop as a very busy and competitive enterprise until 1992, when
the recession took hold, and I was made redundant.

manager.

I worked as a relief chef in many pubs
and bars during this time, working all over Birmingham cooking a variety of

INTERESTS
I have regularly toured with an up
market “covers” band called Session 60, where I mixed the sound and controlled
the lighting system and special effects. I also do sound mixing at events and
functions for singers and musicians. I mix the sound at Sutton Coldfield Baptist
Church on a Sunday morning and evening service’s. I also make numerous sound
beds and presentations for productions in my home Pro Tools Digi 002 7.1LE
studio.
I enjoy spending time with my wife,
SCUBA Diving, (PADI Advanced Open Water) eating out, going to the theatre and concerts.
